American Journalists Visited Kursk: The Washington Post Report.

In Sudzha, Kursk Oblast, American journalists spoke with local residents who said they did not expect the war to reach them. According to The Washington Post, reporters found no evidence of violence from Ukrainian troops or attacks on civilians. Russian residents interviewed in Sudzha said they are treated normally and are unaware of any killed residents.
According to the publication's analysis, the actions of Ukrainian troops in the area and their attitude towards local residents confirm that Ukraine is trying to achieve military progress, not territorial occupation of Russia. Locals said they receive medicine and food from Ukrainian soldiers but asked not to be named because they fear Russian reprisals.
One woman, Marina, stated: "Putin should negotiate with your Zelensky. We want to find a compromise. We are grateful for your help and for how you treat us. But we want to return to our children, to our home. We want everything to end well".
65-year-old Tamara asked the reporters to show Sudzha to Putin and said: "Let our president look".
Journalists also observed Ukrainian soldiers helping women with musculoskeletal problems. A Ukrainian soldier helped 93-year-old Valentina from her house to a car and lowered her down. Reporters note that Ukrainian military personnel do not forget about local animals - dogs and cats.
It should be noted that this is the first visit to Sudzha in Kursk Oblast by journalists after the arrival of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They spoke with locals and showed the situation in the Russian region.
