Basic pension from 2025: who will receive more points.

Ukraine will introduce a new pension calculation system based on a points principle starting from July 1, 2025. According to the new regulations, pension payments will consist of a basic and an insurance part. This is reported by the resource 'On Pension'.
The basic part of the pension will amount to 30% of the minimum wage after taxation. Based on current calculations, if we take the minimum wage of 8000 hryvnias, the basic part of the pension will equal 1848 hryvnias. This amount is guaranteed by the state to all citizens who are entitled to pension provision.
The insurance part will be calculated using a pension points system. 'For each month of work with the average salary in the country, a citizen will receive 10 points,' it is stated in the message. At the same Time, for 35 years of work experience with the average salary, it is possible to accumulate 4200 points.
The value of one pension point will be determined as 30% of the average salary for the previous year, divided by 4200. According to preliminary calculations, in 2024, one point could cost about 80 kopecks, which with an average work experience and salary would give a pension of approximately 5208 hryvnias.
A special recalculation mechanism is provided for current retirees: their existing coefficients of work experience and salary will be multiplied by 12 thousand to determine the number of pension points.
It is also important to mention the new social guarantees for certain categories of retirees.
In particular, from January 1, 2025, non-working Chernobyl retirees who lived in mandatory and voluntary resettlement zones from 1986 to 1993 will be entitled to an additional payment of 2361 hryvnias.
It is important to note that this supplement will only be valid during martial law and will not apply to individuals who left the specified zones or changed their place of residence during the indicated period.
Earlier, the Pension Fund of Ukraine warned about a fraudulent scheme with 'indexation of pensions'.
