«Many friends have fallen away». The star of the series 'Women's Doctor' spoke about the difficult transition to the Ukrainian language.


Ukrainian actress Oleksandra Lyuta shared in her interview how she became a Ukrainian citizen and transitioned to the Ukrainian language. She stated that from childhood she spoke Russian, but after entering the Lviv Conservatoire she decided to communicate exclusively in Ukrainian.
According to Lyuta, the Russian language was widespread in Ivano-Frankivsk at the Time of the USSR's dissolution. Russian literature teachers received higher salaries, and universities taught in Russian.
Oleksandra Lyuta shared her story about transitioning to the Ukrainian language. When she entered the Conservatoire, a teacher asked her about where she would work in the future. Her response about Ukrainian culture and theater made her determined to speak Ukrainian.
Lyuta noted that there were difficulties in transitioning to the Ukrainian language in a Russian-speaking environment, but it was important for her formation as a Ukrainian citizen.
This is not the only example of an actor who switched to the Ukrainian language. Previously, Olga Hryshyna completely refused to communicate with Russian-speaking colleagues and deleted them from her social networks. She expressed her dedication to Ukraine and support for Ukrainian culture.
