Up to 20 hours without light in frosty weather: Popenko named regions threatened by blackouts.

Winter power supply scenarios in Ukraine
The head of the Union of Consumer Utilities, an expert in the field of housing and communal services Oleh Popenko told the publication 'OstroV' about possible power supply scenarios for this winter.
According to him, completely avoiding power outages in Ukraine is unlikely.
Disconnections are already taking place in Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Sumy, where electricity can be turned off practically every day.
The most difficult situation is expected in eight regions: Zaporizhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Chernihiv, and Odesa. In these regions, problems with power supply may occur even at zero street temperature.
'If there are very strong frosts, that is, minus 10 and below, and they last 3-10 days, then huge problems with the heating season will arise, and the light will be turned off for a very long period. It can even be up to 16 and 20 hours a day,' warned the expert.
In an optimistic scenario, power outages will only occur in the frontline and border regions with Russia and Belarus, where generation is currently operating at about half the capacity.
It has also become known why the light is turned off even without strikes on energy facilities.
