Duda: The Eurocorps is critically important for countering Russian imperialism.

The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, stated that the Eurocorps plays an important role in ensuring security in connection with Russian imperialism.

The Eurocorps performs a special and very important role also from the perspective of our security policy, especially at this Time, when we are witnessing the resurgence of Russian imperialism, and when security is decreasing, particularly along NATO's eastern flank and the EU border.

The President added that the Eurocorps successfully fulfills the task of ensuring the security of NATO's eastern borders and the European Union.

Andrzej Duda believes that EU forces should be seen as support for the broader community, which includes the North Atlantic Alliance: 'Today the role of the Eurocorps may become even more important as the U.S. demands that Europe become more active in its security, gather its forces, and be able to respond to challenges arising in Europe.'

President Andrzej Duda emphasized that the greatest threat to Europe today is Russian aggression against Ukraine.

We all, both in NATO and the EU, have supported Ukraine from the very beginning in its fight against Russian aggression - he emphasized.

Poland joined the Eurocorps in 2002 and became one of the framework nations of this structure. Starting from June 2023, a Polish officer will hold the position of the commander of the Eurocorps.
