Export Insurance in Action: Business Gains Access to Bank Financing.

The Export-Credit Agency Insured Exports Worth UAH 5.35 Billion
From January to April 2025, the Export-Credit Agency of Ukraine provided insurance for the export operations of Ukrainian companies totaling UAH 5.35 billion, a significant increase compared to the previous year when this figure was UAH 1.7 billion, according to the Ministry of Economy.
'In the first four months of 2025, the ECA insured the exports of 33 Ukrainian companies, resulting in over UAH 5.3 billion in exports. This is three times more than the same period last year. It demonstrates that businesses recognize the importance of this type of protection. Insurance for export contracts allows producers to mitigate the risks of non-payments and gain access to bank financing. This contributes to the development of production and entry into new markets' – stated Andriy Telyupa, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
The highest export insurance usage was reported by enterprises from Lviv (UAH 1.37 billion), Khmelnytskyi (UAH 1.31 billion), and Volyn (UAH 1.12 billion) regions. They exported furniture, food products, timber, wood products, and processed vegetable and fruit products to various European countries.
The Largest ECA Partners Among Banks
During this period, the largest ECA partners among banks were: Creditwest Bank – UAH 109 million in issued loans, Oschadbank – UAH 92.5 million, Ukrgasbank – UAH 90 million.
The significant growth in export insurance volumes indicates government support for Ukrainian producers in expanding their presence in foreign markets and ensuring the financial stability of enterprises.
