The Ring of the Pope will be destroyed by a hammer: details of the historical ceremony.

Destruction of the ring of the deceased Pope
Today a special ceremony will take place for the destruction of the ring that belonged to the deceased Pope Francis. It was used for sealing letters with wax and formally sealing documents. But now it will be destroyed to avoid forgery. After this, the ring will be placed in the coffin along with Pope Francis.
This papal ring, also known as the 'Fisherman's Ring', is unique to each Pope and cannot be transferred or reproduced. It is created by Roman jewelers who are members of a guild that specializes in jewelry.
The breaking of the ring will be entrusted to Cardinal Kevin Joseph Farrell, who is one of the most influential people in the Vatican and is originally from Ireland.
It is also worth mentioning that the papal apartments in the Apostolic Palace have been sealed by Cardinal Chamberlain Kevin Farrell. However, Pope Francis never used them and lived in the Domus Sanctae Marthae. The sealing of the Papal apartments is a traditional ceremony that is held after the death of a Pope and symbolizes the end of his pontificate.
Unlike other Popes, Pope Francis did not amass personal wealth and had access only to the assets of the Vatican.
