The Ministry of Education has updated the rules for distance learning: what will change.


The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has approved changes to the legislation regarding distance learning during martial law. The new regulations expand the possibilities for organizing education in a distance format.
'These changes are part of the 'School Offline' strategy, aimed at ensuring quality education for all children, regardless of their place of residence. They take into account the needs of different regions and correspond to the proposals of communities,' the Ministry explained.
Updates in distance learning
Among the new provisions:
- Increasing the minimum number of students in a distance class to 20, with the possibility of reducing to 10-15 depending on the region.
- The possibility of organizing remote school work even without all parallel classes.
- Creating a separate class for the study of Ukrainian studies component.
- Enabling children abroad to receive education in Ukrainian through distance technologies.
Staff training and implementation of changes
The Ministry is also implementing a reserve for teachers who may be left without work, allowing them to undergo training and receive a salary.
All these changes are set to come into effect from September 1, 2025, to flexibly respond to the challenges of wartime and ensure access to quality education for all children, regardless of their place of residence.
