Naftogaz of Ukraine plans to get through the winter with its own gas and reserves from EBRD
The company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" announced that this year it increased natural gas production and intends to get through the winter using only Ukrainian gas, as well as reserves purchased with funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. This was stated by Chairman of the Board Oleksiy Chernyshov during a meeting organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in Kyiv.
"With the EBRD bank, there is already several years of so-called Emergency Credit Line. We use this Emergency Credit Line every year to form a certain reserve for possible scenarios that we also calculate. This reserve actually remains in the country's customs warehouse and is not imported into the country," Chernyshov explained.
Chernyshov noted that this is a usual technological procedure for the company, which it carries out annually. He also stressed that all needs of Ukrainian consumers are met with Ukrainian gas.
Among Naftogaz traders, the dynamics of using Ukrainian gas storage facilities this year is low. Chernyshov explained that despite expectations, traders are picking stocks from the storages. However, he noted that the company planned to provide itself with gas independently.
Currently, the dynamics are negative, but final conclusions will be made at the end of the year, added the Chairman of the Board.
