NBU has calculated how much banks issued in loans for the recovery of energy in Ukraine.


According to the National Bank, from June to December 2024, banks received 3,495 applications for financing projects aimed at restoring energy infrastructure for a total of UAH 72.8 billion. Financing for projects totaling UAH 10.5 billion has already begun.
According to a survey of 20 banks, the gross loan portfolio for energy needs of legal entities at the beginning of January amounted to UAH 6.6 billion.
According to a survey conducted in December:
- 261 applications were received from businesses for a total of UAH 4.3 billion;
- 150 applications were approved for a total of UAH 2.5 billion;
- The number of loans granted increased by 198 compared to the survey in November, with a total amount of these loans amounting to UAH 2.2 billion.
According to the National Bank, the total capacity of generation financed by businesses through the loans received is over 470 MW.
The largest amounts of funds were directed towards the purchase and installation of gas piston cogeneration units (208 MW), construction of solar power plants (141 MW), and the purchase of diesel and gasoline generators (118 MW). Projects are financed in 21 regions of Ukraine.
