The National Bank of Ukraine has refuted information about the possibility of blocking clients' bank accounts for frequent cash withdrawals. According to the NBU, false information about new restrictions is spreading in the media and messaging platforms. It is stated that banks must block accounts of clients who withdraw cash more than three times a month or in large amounts.
The NBU unequivocally denies the existence of such requirements in any official documents, recommendations, or legislative acts. The regulator emphasizes that client verification will be carried out by banks, payment and financial institutions in accordance with current legislation on financial monitoring.
