Outstanding ex-footballer of Kyiv 'Dynamo' Konykov passed away.


Today, it became known about the death of former football player and coach Anatoliy Konykov. He passed away at the age of 75. This was reported by the Ukrainian Association of Football.
Life and career of Anatoliy Konykov
Anatoliy Konykov was born on September 19, 1949, in the city of Khrustalny, in the Krasnoluchsky district. He gained popularity as a midfielder. During his career, he played for teams such as "Avangard" (Kramatorsk), "Shakhtar" (Donetsk), and "Dynamo" (Kyiv). He was a four-Time champion of the USSR, holder of the USSR Cup, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.
In the USSR national team, Anatoliy Konykov played 47 matches and scored 8 goals. He became the silver medalist of Euro-1972 and the bronze medalist of the 1976 Olympics.
After ending his playing career, Anatoliy Konykov transitioned to coaching. He led teams such as "Tavriya", "Shakhtar", SC "Mykolaiv", "Vorskla", "Stal", and "Inter" (Azerbaijan). He also worked as the head coach of the Ukraine youth national team. As the head coach of the Ukraine national team, Anatoliy Konykov held 7 matches with 3 victories and 4 defeats.
It should be noted that Anatoliy Konykov, known as a prominent player of Kyiv "Dynamo" in the 70s, and as a holder of the Cup Winners' Cup and UEFA Super Cup, became a father in 1995.
