According to the UN and analysts, Russian strikes and fighting along the frontline have led to a surge in the number of civilian casualties in Ukraine. Compared to last year, 848 civilians were killed or injured in the first 24 days of April, which is a 46% increase. Overall, the first months of the current year have proven to be significantly deadlier compared to the same period last year.
In Kharkiv, in April, there were extensive destructions due to shelling from Russia. Over 500 buildings were affected. American officials are preparing options to strengthen economic pressure on Russia due to Vladimir Putin's inability to end the war against Ukraine. At the same Time, the United States and Ukraine agreed on 22 actions aimed at concluding a potential peace agreement to end the conflict with Russia.
