Russia struck a deadly missile attack on the center of Sumy: many casualties.


Ukraine was attacked by Russia with a missile strike on the city of Sumy, resulting in many casualties among the civilian population. This information was reported by Artem Kobzar, the acting mayor of Sumy, on his Facebook.
'As a result of the rocket strike, there are many fatalities... The enemy has struck again at the civilian population,' Artem Kobzar reported on Facebook.
According to information circulating on social media, the missile strike occurred in the central part of the city.
Currently, investigations into the event are ongoing, and rescue services are actively working at the site of the tragedy.
President Zelensky reacted to the missile strike on Sumy. According to him, Russian ballistic missiles were launched at a regular city street, where residential buildings, educational institutions, and parked cars are located. The tragedy occurred on the day of a religious holiday when many people were going to church.
'Only scum can do such things. Taking the lives of ordinary people,' Zelensky emphasized.
According to preliminary data, dozens of civilians have died or been injured as a result of the shelling. The president expressed condolences to the families of the victims and informed that a rescue operation involving all necessary services is ongoing.
Zelensky called on the international community to respond decisively to this act of aggression. He believes that the USA, Europe, and all those who seek an end to the war must increase pressure on Russia. 'Talks have never stopped ballistic missiles and airstrikes. Russia deserves the approach that terrorists have,' the president emphasized.
