The Death of the Pope Provoked Unexpected Interest in Two Films.

Films about the election of a new Pope after the death of Francis have become more popular
After the death of Pope Francis, interest in films about the election of a new pontiff has increased. The most popular films are 'The Conclave' and 'The Two Popes'.
The film 'The Conclave' was watched 283% more in one day than the day before, while 'The Two Popes' saw a 417% increase in views. Both films are based on novels and real events.
After the death of the Pope, cardinals from around the world gather in the Sistine Chapel for a secret ballot - the conclave - which will determine who will become the new pontiff. Any Catholic can be elected, but usually, a cardinal becomes the new Pope.
The Pope's funeral is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, and will be conducted by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Rey, Dean of the College of Cardinals. It has been noted that the funeral will follow a simplified procedure according to the document 'Order of the Funeral of the Roman Pontiff', approved by the Pope in November 2024.
