The espionage scandal continues: former Ukrainian diplomat arrested in Budapest.

The Hungarian authorities detained a former Ukrainian diplomat on charges of espionage
A former Ukrainian diplomat was arrested in the center of Budapest on charges of espionage, after which he was deported from the country. According to information from
"Glavkom", the Hungarian government reported this.
The Hungarian authorities believe that the activities of the former diplomat significantly threatened the sovereignty of the country. The National Police Office for Foreign Affairs decided to expel the man from the country and ban him from entering.
"The detained man previously carried out his work under diplomatic cover, however, today his official status has been revoked," the government reported.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called the arrest a "witch hunt when arguments run out," urging the Hungarian government to stop the "absurd anti-Ukrainian hysteria."
Exposure of the military intelligence spy network of Hungary in Ukraine
The Security Service reported that, for the first Time in the history of Ukraine, a spy network of the Hungarian military intelligence had been exposed. Its task was to conduct espionage activities in favor of Hungary, in particular, to gather information about the military protection of Transcarpathia and to study the socio-political views of local residents.
In connection with the exposure of the network, Hungary expelled two Ukrainian diplomats who were also accused of espionage. The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs reacted to this situation, accusing Ukraine of conducting anti-Hungarian propaganda.
Such actions and confrontations between Ukraine and Hungary indicate the tense relations between the countries and the need for further resolution of these issues to maintain stability at the border.
