The People's Artist of Ukraine, born in Bukovina, and younger sister of Sofia Rotaru, shared that after the beginning of the full-scale war, she paid a lot of attention to improving her Ukrainian language. In the program 'My Story', she admitted that she hired a tutor to master the language at a high level.
Aurika Rotaru believes that the Ukrainian language is a weapon of the Ukrainian people. She emphasized that it is important for every citizen to be able to use the language. The artist herself continues to learn the Ukrainian language as she considers it important for herself and her country.
'My passport says 'Moldovan', but in my soul and heart, I am Ukrainian. I must know the Ukrainian language,'- added the performer. Aurika Rotaru explained that she graduated from a Moldovan school where she did not learn the Ukrainian language, although she has always sung in Ukrainian since childhood.
It is important to remember that in our Time, the ability to master one's native language is of great importance for national identity and is a crucial factor in preserving cultural heritage.
