The USA is close to a peace agreement regarding the war in Ukraine, both sides need to make concessions, - Vitkoff.

The USA is getting closer to reaching a peace agreement with Ukraine and Russia
Steve Vitkoff, the U.S. envoy to the Middle East, stated that the USA is 'very close' to achieving a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. He believes that any such agreement must include concessions from both sides, both territorial and economic.
'You will see concessions from both sides. And this is what the president does best. He brings people together. He makes them understand that the path to peace is through concessions and reaching a consensus,' Vitkoff emphasized.
He also believes that the 'Istanbul Protocol Agreement' could become the basis for a peace treaty between Ukraine and Russia. In the event of an attack by Russia on a NATO member, President Trump 'would fulfill the United States' obligations under Article 5 to defend allies.'
According to Vitkoff, the Russian-Ukrainian war arose due to discussions about Ukraine's possible accession to NATO, which was perceived by the Russians as a threat. It should be noted that the previous US administration had a different position and deemed Russian aggression as unprovoked.
According to an investigation by Radio Liberty, the draft peace agreement discussed in April 2022 after negotiations in Istanbul involved reducing Kyiv's military capacity and international obligations that would make Ukraine very vulnerable.
Recall that President Zelensky mentioned elections, negotiations with Russia, and the need for military assistance.
