Farewell to Boxer Vyacheslav Uzelkov Held in Vinnytsia (Photo).


On November 9, 2024, after a difficult battle with heart problems, Vyacheslav Uzelkov – a Ukrainian athlete, fitness trainer, and TV presenter, passed away. He was 45 years old. Today, November 11, a farewell to the boxer was held in Vinnytsia. This was reported by the publication VinTime. The farewell ceremony began at 9 a.m. in the ritual hall, where everyone could pay their last respects to the deceased.
At 11 a.m., the procession moved to the cemetery where Vyacheslav Uzelkov was buried after a religious ceremony. According to local media, the boxer's mother and his children from Marina Borzhemskaya – Robert and Olivia, were present at the funeral.
In recent years, Vyacheslav Uzelkov had serious health issues. In 2012, he suffered a stroke. In February 2024, the boxer was hospitalized, and in April he underwent heart surgery.
Sports Career
Vyacheslav Uzelkov was a medalist at the World and European Championships among amateurs. He debuted in professional boxing in 2004, defeating Russian Suleyman Dzherylov in his first fight. Uzelkov ended his career in 2013, losing to Serbian Geard Ajetovic in his last match.
TV Host and Politician
After ending his sports career, Vyacheslav Uzelkov began working as a TV presenter and gained popularity by participating in the show "Ukraine's Got Talent" and the program "The Biggest Loser", in which he participated with his former wife.
Uzelkov also tried his hand at politics: in 2020, he ran for mayor of Vinnytsia from the party "Opposition Platform - For Life", but lost the election, receiving only 4% of the votes.
In 2021, Vyacheslav Uzelkov divorced fitness trainer Marina Borzhemskaya. They lived together for 22 years and raised two children – son Robert (2009) and daughter Olivia (2012). After the divorce, the children stayed with their mother and barely kept in touch with their father. However, after Uzelkov's death, Borzhemskaya published a statement on Instagram expressing her gratitude to the deceased father of her children.
