Ukraine is experiencing a serious staff shortage due to mobilization and relocation: who is being sought and what employers are offering

The situation in the Ukrainian labor market is quite complicated, as evidenced by the results of the OLX and EBA studies. Prolonged mobilization measures have led to insufficient personnel in more than two-thirds of companies. Only a third of them look to the future with optimism, which leads experts to predict a not-so-favorable outlook.

The greatest shortage of workers is felt in manual labor specialties (63%), compared to mid-level personnel (35%). Some employers are looking for solutions by turning to young people or even retirees, collaborating with educational institutions. However, only 13% of companies consider appealing to foreigners as a possible option for solving the staffing problem, believing that language barriers exist.

Research by OLX and EBA has revealed that there is a shortage of personnel in most companies in the Ukrainian labor market, which may negatively affect their further development. Employers are already seeking various ways to solve the problem, but a large portion of them are not ready to engage foreign workers due to various circumstances. The staffing crisis may have serious consequences for businesses in the future.
