Ukrainians were told that now they can build on their land without permits.

Ukrainian legislation contains clear rules for construction on private land plots. It is important to know which objects can be erected without obtaining permission and to start their operation.
Lawyer Iryna Honcharenko reported that private landowners often have questions about whether it is necessary to obtain a construction permit.
'When planning construction on private plots, such as household, garden, or summer house plots, there is often the question of whether a permit documentation is needed,' - noted Iryna Honcharenko.
According to the legislation, owners can erect temporary buildings without obtaining permission. Such objects include greenhouses, fences, wells, gazebos, septic tanks, porches, coverings, garages, tents, cellars, ramps, gates, summer showers, wells, paving, entrances to cellars, restrooms, terraces, canopies, gates, stairs, loft toilets, pits, open pools, and covered pools.
It is also allowed to carry out reconstruction and re-planning of houses and premises without obtaining permits, provided that it does not interfere with enclosing and load-bearing structures or public utility engineering systems.
No special permits are required for building garages, but they must be without a foundation. For capital garages, a construction passport must be issued and the relevant controlling authority must be notified.
Small fences (barriers) on private plots can be built without permits, but they must comply with construction standards. The height of fences should not exceed 2.0 m on the borders of land plots and 2.5 m on the border with the street.
Compliance with legal norms during construction on one's own land helps avoid problems with controlling authorities and neighbors, as well as ensuring the safety of building operation. It is worth remembering the fines for cutting down trees on one's own land.
