Ukrenergo reports no power outages on August 23, 2024
The National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" reported that on August 23, 2024, the application of power outages is not forecasted. This was stated in a company release on August 22.
Ukrenergo notes that electricity consumption continues to rise due to the heat. As of 9:30 AM on August 22, the consumption level was 1.8% higher than the previous day. On August 21, the consumption peak was 1.4% higher than on August 20.
Despite the absence of forecasted outages, the company reminds that the Ukrainian power system is still recovering from eight massive attacks by Russians, it still has a power deficit, and emergency and planned repairs are ongoing at energy facilities.
Ukrenergo urges consumers to use electricity economically throughout the day, especially from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and to avoid using multiple powerful electrical appliances at the same Time during this period.
On August 22, Ukraine will attract emergency aid from the Slovakian power system. Throughout the day, electricity is also being imported from Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova for a total of 19,660 MWh, with a maximum capacity in certain hours of up to 1,333 MW. No electricity export is happening or envisioned.
Due to hostilities and other reasons, 527 settlements are completely or partially without power. Due to bad weather, as of the morning of August 22, 63 settlements in the Lviv and Zakarpattia regions remain without power. Work is ongoing to restore damaged power lines.
