Ukrainian gas stations have already started selling gasoline with the addition of bioethanol, reports 'Khvylya' citing the automotive channel 'Avtotema'. Such fuel is produced by adding bioethanol to gasoline before refueling. The feedback from motorists about the new fuel has been mixed. An expert analyzed the statement of OLEKO company head Vasyl Danyliuk and gathered the first reviews from motorists about the new fuel.Ukraine currently produces first-generation bioethanol, which is quite unstable. In Europe, second-generation bioethanol is already being used. Ukraine currently lacks the capability to produce second-generation bioethanol. A feature of the new fuel is its tendency to separate over Time, which can lead to decreased vehicle dynamics and increased fuel consumption. Therefore, it is recommended to refuel not for a long period and to empty the tank 'to zero' before the next refueling. The first feedback from motorists reports decreased dynamics and increased consumption when attempting to use the new fuel. However, this situation can be improved over time as vehicles will react differently to this fuel. Regular gasoline without bioethanol will continue to be available for military equipment and gasoline with a high octane rating. When refueling with new fuel, it is recommended to fill the tank with pure gasoline with an octane rating of 98 or 100, to try not to leave fuel in the tank for a long time, to refuel only as much fuel as will be used within 2-3 weeks, and to empty the tank 'to zero' before the next refueling. In the future, it is planned to produce second-generation bioethanol, which has better characteristics and does not separate. However, this process may take a long time. Currently, it is impossible to accurately establish the percentage of bioethanol in gasoline, creating a risk of improper fuel mixing. For better assessment of the impact of the new fuel on vehicles, it is recommended to collect feedback and wait for improvements in quality.
