It all ended with a muscle puncture. How two Olympic champions quarreled in Russia.

Ukrainian athlete Oleksandr Bolshunov managed to win the ski racing competition in Russia, despite suffering a muscle puncture during the semifinal. His rival, Serhiy Ustyugov, accidentally hit him with a pole, which led to this incident. Bolshunov was unable to advance to the final because of this and received a yellow card.
Commenting on this situation, Bolshunov said: 'Today I managed to win because no one hit me with a pole on my muscles. In the previous race, there was a hit and a muscle puncture. No matter how it was, today it was easier because no one hit me with a pole in the back.'
It is also known that figure skaters Ivan Bukin and Oleksandra Stepanova expressed support for the singer-propagandist Shaman, who was included in the sanction lists of Ukraine, Canada, and the EU due to his support for Russian aggression. This was revealed in their profiles on social media.
The International Olympic Committee called for support for Russian athletes in the qualification for the 2026 Olympics and to ensure that neutral athletes can participate in the Winter Olympic Games.
