On the morning of Saturday, May 17, 2025, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine presented new information about the losses of Russian occupiers.
Russia's losses in the war as of May 17, 2025
During the war with Ukraine as of May 17, the Russian Federation has suffered the following losses:
- personnel – about 972600 people;
- tanks – 10831 units;
- armored combat vehicles – 22553 units;
- artillery systems – 27942 units;
- MLRS – 1386 units;
- AAD systems – 1167 units;
- aircraft – 372 units;
- helicopters – 336 units;
- operational-tactical UAVs – 36278 units;
- cruise missiles – 3197 units;
- ships/boats – 28 units;
- submarines – 1 unit;
- automotive equipment and fuel tankers – 48809 units;
- special vehicles – 3892 units.
Activity of the occupiers' fleet as of May 17
- There are no enemy ships in the Black Sea;
- There are no enemy ships in the Sea of Azov;
- In the Mediterranean Sea, three enemy ships are present, one of which is a carrier of 'Caliber' cruise missiles with a total of up to eight missiles.
In one day, the following passed through the Kerch Strait in the interests of the Russian Federation:
- to the Black Sea – seven vessels, four of which continued in the direction of the Bosporus Strait;
- to the Sea of Azov – eight vessels, six of which were moving away from the Bosporus Strait.
The number of days of the full-scale war in Ukraine – 1179.
Situation analysis
New information about the losses of Russian occupiers and the activity of their fleet indicates the continuation of the conflict and the intensity of hostilities. The expansion of military operations and the increase in losses reflect the tense situation at the front.
