Frosts in May, heat and drought in summer: forecasters said what weather Ukrainians should prepare for.


Weather forecast: when will warm weather arrive in Ukraine?
According to forecasters, cold air masses from Northern Europe are expected to influence the weather in the near future, leading to a wet and cool second week of May. The temperature will be 4-8 degrees below the norm for this Time of year with frequent precipitation across Ukraine.
However, forecasters have already started predicting the weather for the beginning of summer. It is expected that after May 20, there will be a slight warming, and in June the average temperature will be 1-1.5 degrees above the norm. Some areas may experience frosts down to -5 degrees. For Kyiv, daytime temperatures are forecasted to reach +25 degrees and nighttime temperatures around +15.
Climatologists warn that the summer of 2025 could be hot and dry, with an average seasonal temperature about 2 degrees above the norm. It is also mentioned that there will be less precipitation, which may lead to a high risk of severe fires. However, exact temperature indicators for the summer will only be known a few days before the onset of the weather phenomenon.
Forecaster Ihor Kibalchych added that the summer of 2025 may vary; not every month will be equally hot. For example, June may be cooler, while July and August are expected to be very warm.
