President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared the details of his conversation with FIFA president Gianni Infantino and head of the Ukrainian Football Association Andriy Shevchenko. The head of the Ukrainian state emphasized the importance of sports, which have a significant impact on societies and countries around the world.

"Sports always have a great impact on societies and states around the world. And we greatly appreciate such a strong voice in support of Ukraine and the achievement of a just and lasting peace," the president noted.

Zelenskyy also emphasized the need for joint efforts to quickly end the war and achieve a dignified resolution to the conflict. He urged Russia to move from imitation to real actions to stabilize the situation.

The president expressed gratitude to FIFA for supporting Ukrainian athletes and for peaceful conflict resolution. It is noted that Zelenskyy will meet with Russian leader Putin in the future for negotiations in Turkey.
