The Deputy Attorney General in the Helsinki District Court has charged a Russian citizen. He was arrested in Finland and is suspected of committing five war crimes in Ukraine in 2014. According to Finnish investigation data, the suspect, as the deputy commander of the "Rusich" unit, participated in actions that violate the laws and customs of war. As a result of these actions, he and the unit's soldiers killed 22 Ukrainian servicemen and seriously injured four. The Russian is accused of actions contrary to the laws and customs of war and the treatment of wounded and killed enemy soldiers. The charges are considered international crimes in Finland according to Finnish legislation. The suspect cannot be extradited to Ukraine, so Finland has launched its own investigation. On October 31, the Security Service of Ukraine and the cyber police detained a man in Kharkiv who was working for the Russian Aerospace Forces. He faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. Also, the counterintelligence of the Security Service detained an enemy accomplice in Kharkiv, who was working for the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation. He turned out to be a 72-year-old scientist-mechanic who was developing designs to improve Shahed-type kamikaze drones.
