The largest metallurgical holding in Ukraine has begun using artificial intelligence.

The Metinvest Group is using artificial intelligence to improve workplace safety and product quality control, said Maksym Balaniuk, head of the R&D center Metinvest Digital.
In particular, the SPAIS platform is being used at Metinvest's enterprises, which integrates with industrial video surveillance and helps monitor compliance with safety rules and the presence of people in safe zones.
According to Balaniuk, this platform is successfully operating at several Metinvest enterprises, and an expansion to other company assets is planned. The introduction of the new system has helped reduce the number of violations.
In addition, Metinvest Digital has developed a solution based on computer vision that analyzes and controls product quality. This prevents inefficient use of materials and ensures full compliance with customer requirements.
According to Balaniuk, the first version of the product is already available, but next year an improved version that will be even more efficient and provide better control is planned.
The first version of the solution will bring an economic effect of approximately $250,000 per enterprise per year, while the next version could save twice as much. In addition, Metinvest occupies one of the leading positions among employers in Ukraine and has been awarded in two nominations in the metallurgical industry.
